John Robinson

Robinson's practice begins with drawing and painting in the landscape. The changing qualities of light that he encounters during the day, throughout the seasons, and in differing weather conditions give him a starting point that he develops back in the studio. Robinson's work fluctuates between impressionistic and abstract approaches to painting. His practice extends to include light box paintings and light installations.

Robinson was born in Belfast in 1987. He graduated from the University of Ulster in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art, with first class honours. He returned to the University of Ulster and graduated in 2014 with a Masters Degree in Fine Art, with distinction. He works full time at his studio in East Belfast.
