Brian Dennington

Born in Somerset, Brian Dennington trained in fine art in London and afterwards worked free-lance as an illustrator. With the advent of the Apple computer, when illustration as an art form almost ceased to exist, he decided to concentrate on portrait painting and painting for exhibition.

Dennington has exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and whilst living in Ireland was an invited artist at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Carlow Eigse and at one time was resident artist during the Irish general election campaign.

After moving from Ireland to live in France, Dennington placed less emphasis on portraiture, and concentrated almost entirely on figure work, and gradually there became a considerable demand for his nudes and figure studies. He has now returned to his roots, living in Devon, and regularly shows his work in the UK and Ireland.

Solo exhibitions and private collections:
Leinster House (The Dáil Dublin), Warner Brothers (U.S.A.), Office Public Works (Dublin), Ruairi Quinn (T.D.Minister of Education, Irish Republic), Trinity College (London), Lady Evelyn Barbirolli (Canadian Prime Minister), Christy Moore, Dermot Desmond (Irish Republic), Judge Michael Rich Q.C., Mr & Mrs Lonnegan (Concorde, New Hampshire).
